BEAVER MAZDA SITE VISIT

February 2025

A team of HFR architects went on a site visit earlier this month to witness the final construction phase of one of their latest projects, the Beaver Mazda state-of-the-art dealership in Cumming, GA. HFR, led by Victor Talley, partnered with WS Construction Services, and CBI General Contractors, to shepherd this 30,000 square foot modern facility to completion.

While there, the team saw first-hand what every architect dreams of seeing–their work come to life. Months of planning, programming, sketches, and design meetings followed by plans, elevations, details, sections, and specifications all realized. Sydney McMullen, a 2024 graduate in Architecture, who’ll be celebrating her first year at HFR in April, said, “The most valuable part of going on a site visit is getting to see the drawing details come to life.” The thrill of walking through your ideas is an inspirational journey we love to go on with our people at HFR.

Seeing and understanding the construction process first hand helps our team to deepen their understanding of how to communicate a design to the many disciplines, as well as the client, and general contractor. Sydney described it as “eye opening” to see how much work goes into the site infrastructure long before a building’s foundation is laid. Effective coordination with all of the design disciplines comes more naturally when everyone sees first-hand how a project comes together. At HFR, we provide continuous opportunities for our team, from interns to partners, to get out of the office, put on a hard hat, and see the fruits of their labors.
