HFR approached the design of the new Department of Family and Children Services and the Department of Child Support Services building in Cherokee County with the idea of simplicity. This 32,850 square foot single-story facility houses both departments that have separate entrances with curved canopies and varying-sized windows surrounding them. HFR filled the space with interview, conference and huddle rooms along with separate lobbies, offices and workstations. The building also doubles as a community event space where citizens can access the large conference room and breakroom.
